Georgia Has Its 2000 DNA Database Hit

On September 2, 2010 the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced that it made its 2000th hit in its DNA Database.  The unlucky robber's blood was found at a pizza parlor that he tried to rob in October 2008.  Nathaniel Lee Bennett put a garbage bag over his head with two holes cut out.  Armed with a stick, he tried to take cash from an employee when another employee hit him over the head with a mop handle.  Shedding blood, the man ran away and his DNA was subsequently entered into the DNA Database producing the latest hit.
