DNA Collected From Arrestees Helps Solve Crimes in California |

On June 16, California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr., released a forensic report that showed that DNA collected at arrest is solving cold cases by providing positive identification of suspects in violent crimes such as rape, murder and robbery. California began collecting DNA from adults arrested for felonies in January 2009, and so far, more than 800 crime-scene samples have been matched to DNA collected from suspects under arrest.
