In South Carolina, a killer was identified through cutting-edge DNA techniques after blood soaked socks of the victim were found near the crime scene. Apparently, the killer used the victim's socks on his hands not to leave any fingerprints. The state police lab was able to detect a DNA profile of the killer and  passed it through the state DNA Database and obtained a hit, of a well known burglar.
