rhode islandRhode Island just introduced two new bills to take samples from everyone arrested on a felony charge without waiting for a conviction.  Proponents say that adding more DNA profiles will give law enforcement more opportunities to catch the guilty and clear the innocent. Opponents say that adding more people would threaten the privacy of the innocent and clog a DNA testing system that is already having trouble keeping up with convict DNA testing.
